The awe and envy I felt reading Annie DeWitt’s outstanding debut novel White Nights in Split Town City is something I’ve experienced only a few other times. This dark coming-of-age novel easily made its way into the very exclusive club of books I will read again. I read it once in a breathless tear and am already plotting when I can get back in because I want to spend more time with all of its unique lyricism and subtle layers. A slender masterpiece that contains shocking darkness and depth.
