Awesome Radiolab (such an awesome show, really) recently reaired a their “Me, Myself, and Muse” episode, and I was lucky to catch some of it in the car. The show is about dealing with writer’s block and courting the muse, and features stories from Oliver Sacks and Elizabeth Gilbert. I’m on the fence about muses and find it a little gross when people talk about them. I’m also on the fence about Elizabeth Gilbert (mostly off the fence, actually), but she’s really smart and charming here, and for a moment you can believe that she’s struggled with writing or been a struggling writer.  If nothing else, the show is worth listening to for Sacks’ “suicide method” and the sound effects. Do it. I mean, it’s not like you’re writing.
