I’m sad when any independent bookstore closes, but I was particularly bummed to learn that the Oscar Wilde Bookstore, thought to be America’s oldest gay and lesbian bookstore, would finally be closing at the end of March after struggling for years.  Go to their website to read the goodbye letter from the current own, Kim Brinster.

If you live in or are visiting NYC, stop in and appreciate it before it’s gone (maybe even buy something?).
